Description

This is the single pair of two-branched candelabra presently known and registered, bearing a Brussels mark. This model of torch is also found on parisian design such as those by Jean Vannier or Jean-Charles Duchesne. The work of these candelabra is totally original and typical of the craft of the Belgian silversmith.

Marks description

~ City mark of Brussels : a standing lion crowned + a head of a crucifer of Sint Michael
~ Number 79 standing for the year 1779
~ Master silversmith marking with an arrow topped by three circles (known but not identified)
